For My Cousins!

What a small world! My friend was posting pictures of her sister-in-law on facebook, and there was my cute cousin!

Cute Sister Lulu! Haha she probably doesn't go by that anymore! Thought you might enjoy these Alli, Liz and Emily! You may have seen them already!

Swatches!

So much to paint... So little motivation for sanding and priming!
Here is our door right now, I thought I had found a great color green. So I recklessly sprayed it with spray paint! Boy was I wrong on the color. Now it just looks like someone paintballed our door! Oh well, current stain was awful. I wanted to sand the door down and lightly stain it with blue or green. But I know how much I hate to sand so I decided to just slap on some Gripper primer and pick a paint. What I really want my sweet Drew to do is cut out the top 5 or 8 squares at the top of the door and we'll put glass in them. Pipe dreams...
Here is my rough coat of primer. Ugh, I hate priming! And the swatches. Still undecided. I want to see the swatches throughout the day to see how they look in different light.
Here is our galley kitchen. A good throwback to living in the Chi-O house! Great times, at least in this kitchen I don't have my name on a calendar and have to clean up after 18 other girls. (But I'd do it again in a heart beat!). Anyway... As you can see I took of a few cupboard doors, and started sanding them down, got bored of that so I started priming some other cupboards!
Here are my swatches I picked. Cream/light beige for the wall. And a light sage green for the cupboards. Hopefully our kitchen will be transforming shortly. We bought a tiny brand new stove off ksl, and I'm looking for a 9.9 cu fridge (just in case a reader happens to have one they are looking to get rid of!). And knocking down a wall under the stairs to open up the room a lot more.
My last and least important project is painting our dresser and bed. These swatches that you can't see very well are a dark gray/blue. Whew! Who know when this will all take place. As one of our neighbors said, "Nothing like have 80 projects started, 80% done!".

Our Neighborhood

Could not be anymore spectacular! To say that Drew and I are in love with our neighbors is a huge understatement.
Stan (wearing the jeans in this picture) has done sprinkler systems for over 50 years. He is our next door neighbor. We got a quote for a new sprinkler system for $5000. Stan came over mapped out our entire yard, took the measurements and had a sprinkler system mapped out. Then he ordered all of our materials through his account so we could get them wholesale. Then he spent countless hours at our house whether we were there or not hooking up the system. We got a brand new amazing system for a mere fraction of the original price. We had neighbors show up at our house with shovels, picks, sledgehammers and drinks. Our neighbors shoveled our rock filled shovel for hours!
Pretty safe to say that was the last sprinkler system Drew will do. In out opinions the companies that charge $5000 earn every penny!
Our other neighbors Dave and Holly have had fun projects at their house that Drew has loved working on! Here is the before of their house.
And while I was at Youth Conference and Holly was away for the weekend these guys were up until 2 a.m. both weekend nights to finish the project before Holly got home.
The finished deck complete with French doors!
A much more glamorous project then sprinklers! We love the projects around our neighborhood, almost as much as we love our neighbors!

The Life I Signed Up For...

Apparently my life/home will always be covered in a fine layer of Sheetrock dust. Drew and Dave knocked down the wall that leads to our basement a week ago.
What inspired this demolition... I'm not sure, but it was done. And our house looked again, like a testing ground for missiles.
Then I spent a good portion of my week cleaning up the debry, Drew decided we needed to tear out another wall. For the first time, I can't really picture where he is going with this project. All I know is it will be amazing.
Caesar wanting to take a wack at demo.
I truly love my life!

Cabin Fun!

We didn't get to spend much time up at the cabin, because of finals, work and youth conference. But what time we did have there was fabulous as always!
Kids playing at the park! Too cute!
Caesar trying to play on the park! Not as cute.... Okay, way cute to us!
And lovers by the waterfall! Love our cute little family!

Smitten

I know they have chewed up almost every pair of shoes I own, they have accidents, they bring in dirt from the yard by the bucket full, they sleep perpendicular on the bed, but I love these pooches.
How could that snuggle not melt your heart?

My Solution to the Summer Heat!

It's no secret that I do not tolerate heat well! It doesn't bring out the best in me!
So here is my solution to our boiling hot basement! Yep
That's a fan taped (with electrical tape!) to our window! Best nights sleep so far!

Youth Conference

Was such a blast!
Such an awesome group of kids, and leaders! I knew I would enjoy going camp... I just wasn't prepared for how much fun I would have!
Our cute girls that could make it.
Riding the tram down the mountain was absolutely beautiful! It doesn't get much prettier then Utah.
Blowing up our full size air mattress (twice... Sophia!) so we could have two magical nights snuggled together!
Sophia being great, as usual. Love her!
Last night of camp we taped glow sticks to our selves so that we looked like skeletons! Too bad we couldn't figure out how to take the flash off! In the dark it looked amazing. I don't think I have ever laughed so hard. Except for the night before when Sophia and I were drugged, and kept Chrissie up until 3, laughing. "Because there is nothing wrong with Del Taco!"
The tram down the mountain! Thanks for the pictures Sophia!

Fourth of July

Our awesome Fourth of July started with a high heeled fashion show from this guy! Obsession continues!
Then some swim time at Mimi and Papa's Swim and Tennis club! Complete with snack bar! It's the high life!
Michael always the best influence for safety, did his annual roof jump. Mimi again was less then thrilled!
Indy, joined this year to make it a doubles jumping event!
Synchronizing at it's finest! Good form.
Then to continue the theme of 'Safety First!'. We had our firework show! This year, to really wow the crowd my dad and brother lot the fireworks off in their hands! (Avoid watching Holly!). My mom was lucky enough to be worried for her children's safety, twice this year! Good year!

Best part of year, watching my dad swing on a swing with a firework in his hands! All fun and games until next year someone loses an eye!
