Mantle and Mini Mudroom...

Before Drew left for Texas he had a crazy busy Saturday... He managed to do all the wood work for a mantle and a built-in mini mudroom.

This mantle was inspired by this one. By Tiek Built Homes. The tile is beautiful and is a woven stone pattern that has brings great texture to the piece.

I wish we would have snapped a picture of the cupboards that were here before. This is such a great use of space! The built in was designed by the client Drew's brother and sister-in-law...

It turned out terrific.

I stumbled upon J. Visser Design and my mind was blown! If you follow my pinterest board Houses, you may have seen these. Look at this house! Look at all the unique details... The glass walkways with rounded metal roofs.

Incredible! My eye rests easy on homes with symmetry. I love how they could have just made a massive home (not that this is in any way small) but they broke it up with the glass walkways to give dimension that lead to more smaller living areas. Helping to make a huge home feel more intimate.

I really like the back view of the corner. What is a 90 degree turn in front is a rounded glass wall. I especially like that they accent the glass walkways with grey on the exterior.

Grey pop outs and functioning exterior shutters. Love the giant crown on the pop out.

Polly and Drew Reunite...

Polly and Drew reunite after 3 long weeks.... Forgive Polly's shabby appearance, scheduled an appointment with a groomer, and our yard. One more year of seed.... It's come a long way... Just focus on Polly trying to turn herself inside out!

Oh my! This book was amazing! I kept hearing about it, but seeing as its a junior novel I thought myself superior... Just kidding, I just thought it was a kids book... While every kid should read this, I think every adukt should too. I cried... Several times... It's just a book to bring us all back to human decency I highly recommend this book. For everyone, and especially everyone entering Junior High!
