Almost There!!!

Before: Outside of the house....

After: Outside (sorry I didn't do it in the best lighting so the house looks really washed out, and the redd door doesn't look as good as it does in person, you get the idea!) We still need do some landscaping, and touch-up...

Before: Pink Bedroom...

After: Pink Bedroom
We painted and patched the walls, ripped up the old carpet, and replaced the window.
Now we just need to lay the carpet...

That is just a tiny snippet of what is done in the house... The cupboards are hung, all the walls are painted. Light fixtures are in, this week we (and by that I mean Andrew) will lay the carpet pad and carpet, and work on the tile! Then we will install the counter tops, and will be ready to sell...

After a hard days work sometimes you just want to throw on your redd t-shirt and relax!! At least that's what we do here in the Hogan Home!

Caesar and His Best Friend!

Caesar LOVES my sister Meghan! I was sitting on the steps of our house watching them play when Meghan had Caesar climb up on her, and to my surprise... almost horror... he just kept getting taller... I don't know why I didn't realize how tall he would be now, he isn't even six months yet!! He still has six more months of growing!

My word, what did we get ourselves into!!!

Saved By the..... Dog!

Big Cottonwood Canyon is in desperate need for some of these signs!

So we have decided that thanks to our sister Meghan we really need to get into fly fishing! So we decided to go on a drive up Big Cottonwood and just scout out a few places to go for future fishing. We walked up and down the stream to see if we could see any fish. Or if we should just stick to Weber and Provo Canyons.
(here is a picture of the family on our first adventure fly fishing after work in Ogden on Friday)

Caesar loving life, helping us scout for fish!! Well, we spread out on our walk up the stream after a little bit of a walk we stopped to look for fish in the water. Andrew was about 15 yards away from me, and Meghan was in between us. And Caesar was standing at my feet playing in the water.

As you can see this is by no means really a river. This is where I was standing, and the water when you stepped in would splash at your ankles. Not deep at all.

My view to the other side not zoomed in at all! So I was sitting there, extremely focused on finding fish in the water! When the next thing I know Caesar has stopped moving and let's out the most fearsome bark I have ever heard from a puppy... He is going wild. So I look down at him and all of the hair on his back is on end. He is low on his haunches bearing his teeth. I look up and no more than six feet away from me, standing in this little inlet is a full grown, black, bull moose!! My heart stops because I see the moose isn't stopping. It paused for a minute and looked at Caesar then at me and started across the river at us. First thing that came to my mind was moose kill more people than bears. A fact I learned from my sister Alissa. (Look it up, it's true) So I yell "Run" and I'm screaming at Caesar to come, but he's not budging he is stuck there barking at this beast. He keeps looking at me and looking back at the moose, so I realize he's not going so I have to get out. I am running through the water and my feet get stuck in mud, I kick off my flip flops and look at the moose bearing down on Caesar. I have to climb my way up the steep edge to get up onto the road. I could barely climb down it, taking my time and with shoes on. I had dirt under my finger nails from clawing my way back up. I get to the top and Caesar is still below, the moose has turned his antlers down and is after Caesar, Caesar turns to look at me and sees that I am up the wall and safe so, he lets out a few more barks and heads up after us. The moose follows as well. I'm yelling at Andrew to get the keys so we can jump in the car, he can't remember where they are, and the moose is still after us!

With all of this commotion about three trucks pull up right next to us, and the moose finally starts turning around and ran across the street and up the other side of the mountain!! Probably the most terrifying experiences of my entire life. I would have been oblivious to the moose had Caesar not been watching. An incredible dog!

A moose stand 6-7 feet tall at his shoulders. And can weight between 800 to 1000 lbs! And are surprisingly quick on their feet! Just a little interesting tidbit of knowledge! Imagine trying to run away from one of these!! Gets your heart pumping a little bit!

The hero of the day, and imagine running this road barefoot.... Not too fun!

And my shoes are now floating down stream somewhere : (

Our Dog on Miracle Grow!

Caesar next to his kennel that he was shipped to us in.... He was small enough two months ago to stand completely upright, and still have two or three inches before his head touched...

Caesar nestled soundly in Drew's arms, on the night of his arrival into the Salt Lake valley....

Drew and Caesar wrestling in the back yard, two months and two weeks later...

Caesar snoozing on his favorite pillow.....

Caesar taking a break from all of his hard work up in Ogden.... Not much room left on his pillow... The pillow has lost a little bit of its fluff...

Caesar and his friend Fenway. Fenway used to love pinning Caesar to the ground and sitting on him.....

There isn't much of that going on anymore!!!

Caesars new kennel!!!!! The first day we brought it home, we were shocked by the size of it... Drew calls it the Taj Mahal of dog kennels.... It is quite spacious.... We had to try it out!! Thank goodness for self timers!

The amazing tower of kennels that Caesar has been able to call home...

A Great, Great Dane Day at the Park!

This is Caesars' pre-Great Dane Day at the Park massage! He needed to be on his 'A game" for the day!
Caesar meeting another bandaged friend! This Blue dane is 11 months old... 7 months older than Caesar and they were almost the same size.... Ohhhh boy!!
Caesar and Andrew participating in the Best Couch Sitter contest... Caesar isn't allowed on the furniture so he hopped on and hopped off before we could get a photo! Andrew for the big day wore his new tube socks to the event!! (Love you Dad Hogan!)
Caesars second Blue Dane friend could fit his entire neck in his mouth!! Caesar loved it... The bystanders were a little nervous... Puppy Love!

Great Dane Day at the park is now an annual activity for the Hogan's. We went last year when we were dating, and decided that we needed one. It was fun to come this year with a Dane. There were over seventy Great Danes at the park today, it looks like a bunch of Horses running around barking at each other!! They have competitions like "Best Couch Sitter, Biggest Nose, Cutest Puppy, Best Hot Dog Catcher, Oldest and Youngest Dane." We couldn't stay too long we had to get back to Saturday Chores. One of the 'Greatest' days of the year... No pun intended!

SUNDANCE

Here are some pictures of our little jaunt up to Stewart Falls in Sundance!
This is one of our favorite "little adventures" it's just fun a break from doing the usual.
We have taken this little stroll several times, but haven't been back since Andrew proposed at the waterfall. So it will always be special to us.
The view from here is incredible. And it was such a fun spring day. The weather was perfect, and it was so relaxing.
Our puppy dog LOVED it!!!

SO BIG!!

We Had To Do It!!!

As much as we want to pretend like we are not those people who are obsessed with our dog, but if we had his percentiles from the doctor you bet we would be bragging about them. He for now (and for quite a while) is our only baby!
This is Caesar with his baby! Lindsay took him to the pet store and Caesar picked up this duck and hasn't put it down since. Wherever he goes the duck is right with him, he only sets him down for a second to sniff at something, then he picks him right back up to explore something else.
This is Caesar before we had his ears done!! Look how cute and floppy they are!! Love this dog!
Caesar and Andrew just surfing the internet!!
We woke up in the morning and found Caesar like this! He had picked the blanket off the floor and tucked himself in!! He was covering his face from the light... Yes we think he's fantastic!
My fifteen week old puppy!!!! Its amazing how fast they grow... sad at points because he gets growing pains and you can tell he is sore. He is now taller than our friends two year old lab!! He will be one big boy!
After the ear cropping!! Now people don't like to just walk in our gate. Especially at night, which we love! And this is Caesars first day of school photo! haha his first day of puppy preschool!! (we're still working on getting that one ear to straighten up)

What We Have Been Up To

We are just trying to play a little catch up on what has been going on and we thought we would kick it off with a Andrews birthday!!! He loved wearing his princess hat while he blew out candles on his cupcake birthday cake!!! What a good sport!! The grandkids loved it!
This is Andrew, Nick and little Lizzy playing with Andrews birthday present!! Our new puppy Caesar!! Andrew was showing Lizzy how to pet a puppy and he said sit down and Lizzy said, "Should I sit 'criss cross applesauce!?" We love this little girl!
Well we got a dog, and we are obsessed with him! Andrew got him for his Twenty-Fifth Birthday! He's a great dane and we got him two months ago at 25 lbs, and he is now 54 lbs! We love taking him to the dog park, home depot, my moms house and pretty much everywhere we go, he goes! He has a great personality and is so great with kids!
