It's Going to be a Great Winter!

And here's why...
Drew cleaned out our garage, and it has made all the difference! Waking up in the morning and not having to ice pick my windows! Or drive around peeking out of the tiny defrosted hole in my windshield! Opening up my car door and not having a clump of snow fall on my seat, is life changing! Thanks Drew!

My Sweet Grandpa!

He never ceases to amaze me! Even after he is gone. I go to my granny's once a week to buy her groceries and clean her house! Today she found a card from my grandpa. It was too sweet not to share!
My grandpa from the time I was tiny made his own cards! He was a wiz on the computer! And I'm pretty sure the first person ever to have the Internet. Anyway I digress, he made his own cards and this one was made for my granny after she became really sick. We all thought we were going to lose her. This is what the card said.
How sweet is that?! That is true love if I've ever read it! I love the little nicknames. Marcie and Maxie! Too sweet.
Oh and just to snazz it up, my grandpa threw in a hula goose! He couldn't be more adorable!!
And on the back just like a Hallmark card he put his signature! Something awesome like "you know who" or "that old guy" but for my granny... She got Maxwell! (not my grandpa's full name)

Froehliche Weinachten! (Germany)

We are a little out of order on our 'Christmas Around the World Palooza!'. But we are making it work! As tradition holds Christmas in Germany is a Christmas Tree and Gingerbread houses.
We bought a gingerbread house kit again this year! We could haw had homemade gingerbread courtesy of our sister and brother in law but alas had a scheduling conflict! Bummer!
Here is our masterpiece! Yes we placed each and every one of those 'Nerds' one at a time. Worth it!
A thing to behold! Notice Drew's improvised chimney! Snow included!
The kit came with a 1/2 lb of candy, but we basically only used the 'Nerds'. Drew didn't want it to look "junky", and it was as if he read my mind! Two peas in a pod! I LOVE the holidays, and I love Drew!

P.s. We still haven't gotten our tree, because by the time Drew got home this week it was frigid! We'll get it soon! We can't wait to complete our Christmas tour of Germany! Froehliche Weinachten!

Sinterklaas Came to Our House!

Sinterklaas came to our house and delivered special goodies to us, for being so good this year!
We put our shoes at the bottom of the stair so Sinterklaas was sure to find them!
Our lonely little shoes!
After our shoes were filled! Sinterklaas brought me the cutest warmest hat! And just in time for the snow! Sinterklaas delivered to Drew a hand chopper and rice cooker! Drew has been very into cooking lately and what kind of wife would I be to stifle those ambitions?!
Our goodies unpackaged! And a better look at my hat unwrapped! (Although my gifts to Drew may look like more! Drew blew me out of the water! Drew deserves the credit for best gift!)

Festival of Trees

I LOVE December!! I love all of te festivities that come with it! We kicked off the season with a special trip to The Festival of Trees!
Alex, me and Cait standing by Chuck's tree!
Chuck's tree! It was beautiful! Alex's sister (Chuck's mom) designed and decorated it! It was a beautiful butterfly theme!
Chuck's super cute picture!
Drew and me by Chuck's tree!
Then the obvious picture of Cait and Drew by the tree! Ha! It is so fun to go to the festival, so nice to see all the charity and money raised for Primary Children's Hospital. It's fun seeing all the people you know too!
This is Levi Snarr's tree that was beautifully done as well! The Snarr's are some of my favorite people and it was nice and sad to see this lovely tree for Levi!
A picture of Levi who passed away from cancer. The festival is so amazing because it takes peoples heartache and turns it into a way to help others! It was a great night!

And I almost forgot about the gingerbread houses! This picture is of a giant gingerbread train!
And this was the house from the movie 'Up'. It was super cute and colorful! I love the little detail they put into it! So creative!
