Guess Where We Are!?!

Yep, our home away from home... Wanna know what we (again I mean Drew) are doing?
We are giving this sad little lady a face lift! And it's going to be amazing...
We got so excited that we have already ripped off the iron posts and the plastic shutters on the windows. Ps, I always thought those were wood, they are not. We decided that we are going to blog the whole process to keep out loyal followers up to date. Prepare to have your mind blown.
As I write right now we, Caesar, Cleo and I are sitting outside of Home Depot waiting for Drew to pick up some drill bits. I guess I have just gotten so used to our dogs that I am always surprised when people walk passed the car and say how big they are.
Everyone comments.
I know they are big, but how do they tell from so far away?
Tonight we picked up some wood, glue and brackets to get started on the framing.
Drew got right to work ripping off the exterior of the portico.
And installing the 4X4s.
Below is a mock up of how the porch will look. Very well sketched by Drew.
We will keep you updated on the progress! Hopefully the weather holds out like my iPhone weather app promises.

***Snow Day***

Today it snowed... A ton... I don't know why so many people forget that in Utah, yes it snows in Spring. It does this every year, but somehow, every year people are in utter shock that it could possibly snow in April. Today however it snowed so much that I was unable to make it up the canyon for work. Drew has been nursing an illness, which he is conveniently trying to blame on me... Nice try! And he would be spending a good deal of time on a ladder, they decided it was best to take a snow day!
So we bundled up, and headed outside to get some fresh air on the Drewpy Panty's feeble body.
We got some dog biscuits for the pooches, broke them up into little bits. (Honestly when we break these bones down, they are about the size of an average dog biscuit. Everything with these dogs is GIANT.) Then tossed them all around the yard, and let them go on a little treasure hunt. Quite entertaining!
Then we put our newest donation (given to us by friends) to good use. Our new chiminea! Brilliant! Below I will give you the play by play, in every beautiful, gory detail.
MAN HANDS! Kind of just something you want to shout every time you see them! No secretary hands for this guy! Drew sawed some scrap wood down to kindling. Lit some matches...
Started some cardboard on fire...
Lit a few more matches... And a little more cardboard...
And boom backyard chiminea fire! All the not so gory, but entirely useless details. Next we took some burned wood and wrote messages to each other...
Not unlike the petroglyphs of the Native Americans. Actually nothing like that, still cute.
Then we burned the wood that our messages were written on.
It was a wonderful snowy spring morning!

Easter Festivities!

Easter Bunny festivities at my mom's house, are always a treat! Look at the excitement on those little faces pressed against the glass! And the cute carrot on the door! Darling!
The door was opened, and the wild things were released.
Not before we made them stop and take a picture on the porch! Look at how excited Lizzy was for pictures! (The cheerleader in the front)
The hunt! Look at all those eggs!
The loot! Easter bunny spares no expense on grandchildren! ha!
Easter bunny even brings money!
So excited!
The loot!
Drew watching over my parent's iPad... More amazing then I could have ever imagined! Thank you Steve Jobs!
Even more special then the easter bunny was my Grandma Redd's visit.
We sure love her. This is Grandma with her mini me Lizzy. It was a great Easter.

Lovers... To Siblings...

All in one day!
Our pooches got the old snip-a-roo today. And they are not lovin' it.
They have spent most of their post op, huddled up by the space heater.
So sad for the puppies.

Baby Palooza!

Things are never dull with my job, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Here is Claire feeding her baby. She's a natural.
Claire with all of her babies.
Claire found that baby sister Mary made an excellent feeding station. Mary didn't seem to mind.
Lots of babes.
3 girls 20 months apart! Does it get any cuter?!

To My Mister Wonderful!

It was around this time THREE years ago I met my mister wonderful. On a girls' night date night, that he wasn't supposed to come to. We were supposed to go on a blinddate (set up by my sister Alissa) , but he never called. I called my friend and her sister in law ( who is also my friend, because the first time I met her she made a rude guesture towards me, and I knew from that moment we were destined to be friends.) and asked them to go to dinner one night. Well they asked their cousin to come along, who in turn asked her brother to tag along. That evening as I sat at our sorority house deciding if I should get ready or just go as I was, it was just my friends, what did they care what I looked like?I finally decided I should get ready just so I could use the new makeup brush I just purchased. When my friends came to pick me up they screamed out the window Kadie screamed "Don't be mad it wasn't my idea." confused, they explained Abby, Drew's sister had invited Drew along. Thank goodness I got ready. At least I would look presentable to the boy who never called for our date. I'd show him! When we got to the restaurant Drew was there with his white gangster hat on. (I semi miss that hat) First words I ever spoke to him were "Oh thanks for calling, that makes meeting you here a lot less awkward." ha what a snot! He said "I did call you, I got your voicemail that said "Hi this is Ashley, leave me a message." and I said "well that's awkward, my names Lindsay." and he turned bright redd and stumbled some other excuse, and we all laughed. The fact that Drew was not put off by my humor, and knew I was teasing him, made me know that I liked him. We made plans to actually go on a date. As luck would have it we had to cancel our date because we had his aunt Debbie's surprise party to go to. Where we would hang out again for the second time, before actually going on our blinddate. And the next night a week later after our first meeting, we had our first date. I could tell you everything we were wearing down to my perfume. It was perfect! And the rest follows as history!
Now married and two giant dogs later we are deliriously happy!
From the guy I met who wore baggy jeans, ginormous shirts and gangster hats. To my Drew, who wears skinny jeans!
And his giggle..... How I LOVE his giggle!

The only other person I know who has also always wanted a Great Dane! Believe me there aren't a lot of us out there!
Drew is such a tenderheart, has cried in far more movies then I have, and is truly concerned for others.
And his giant man hands! Who wouldn't love those?! Love you Drew.
