1. What is your biggest regret?

I really don't have any major life choice regrets. The only thing I can think of is when I said an unkind thing. Or hurt someone, unintentionally, but hurt them none the less

2. What’s your most embarrassing moment?

All of my embarrassing moments have had enough distance in them to just be funny now. The one that was the most embarrassing at the time was when I tripped over a girls foot during a high school basketball game. We were the only two people on the entire court... I laughed so hard I peed my pants on the court. My teammates tried to help me up, but I knew I would empty my entire bladder if I stood up. So I yelled, "I hurt my knees!" To buy my bladder a little more time.... Just funny now!

3. Who is your best friend?

This guy.... Seriously, everyone says they married their best friend. We don't have to say that... We live it. We do everything together. There is no one I would rather be with than Drewpy. We work everyday so we can go into business together so we can spend more time together. I'm crazy about this guy!

4. What’s your dream job?

I have my dream job. I am just working right now to refine it. I love owning my own business as an Interior Designer. I wake up excited to work. Hopefully one day soon, Drew and I will be running our own design, build team. We have been tossing around the idea of fixing up homes and airstreams all over the US... Okay let's just make that world!

5. What’s your favorite hobby?

Studying design....
I love it, as part of my business I spend hours and hours a day studying design. And learning the details, ebbs and flows of what works, and what doesn't. And why it works... Why marble etches, why soapstone or caesarstone? Full spectrum paint vs the cheapest can at Home Depot. I want to know it all. And that is my hobby. Any book, picture or place with good design I want to see it.

6. What is your favorite website?

Pinterest.... I don't really use it to find stuff, but to store all of my design inspirations, set up client projects and review all of my favorites in one place... You just can't beat it. Follow me here.

7. What’s your favorite book?

The Giver, by Lois Lowry. It's always been one of my favorites. I had heard rumor about there being a sequel. The Son(?)..... Hmm?

8. If you were on a deserted island what 3 people would you want with you and why?

These above.... And Bear Grylls... Because I can't live without them... And literally couldn't live if Bear Grylls wasn't there to help me survive.
Fact!

9. If you could change 1 thing about your life, what would it be?

If this had been a year ago I would have much to say about living my life for myself. And how I was more worried about others people's thoughts or feelings about what I wanted. I am happy to say, I have made the changes! I am living my life.... And it has made all the difference.

10. What was your happiest day?

I am happiest while traveling, or on some sort of adventure. So many travels with family and friends it is hard to choose...

11. What’s your biggest weakness?

Anxiety...

I am trying to turn it from a weakness to a strength. It was something that crippled me. Caused me to not want to leave the house. Miss out on opportunities and life. But as I have taken control of my life, and left the things that brought me anxiety I have felt the chains release.

It is still a part of my life, but I use it as a motivator. To be prepared, work harder and do more than my best.., after all...

Thanks Katie!

Fifteen Minute Dry Time....

I scored a perfectly shaped end table at Savers for $4. The only thing not perfect was the paint color.... Scooped this baby up, brought it home to my gold spray paint can I had at home. Removed the hardware with a kitchen knife.... Real DIYers use kitchen knives. Sprayed that sucker gold... Waited 15 minutes for the paint to dry.... And done! My quickest flip yet.

It looks right at home holding my $4 ginger jar lamp (of which I found in a pair!) next to my $30 sofa. Which sits below my 42" $11 mirror. I got this mirror at a thrift store as well. I came home and was looking for mirrors for a client and up popped this exact mirror for $450! What. Are. The. Odds!? Pictures do not do this mirror justice. It is quite the statement piece. Better pictures to come.

Goonies, Cannon Beach, Multnomah, Horsetail Falls and Poplars...

Can you visit Astoria, OR without at least visiting the house from Goonies? My parents probably could have done without.... They humored me... Next visit I'm visiting all the sites. I may even throw in some sites from Free Willy and Kindergarten Cop. What an incredible place...

The neatest part about this house, besides when I screamed in the driveway "Brandon don't you dare come home without your brother, or I'll commit hari Krishna..." "That's hari Kari, Ma." Just kidding... You can hear the sea lions bark, and they have the most incredible view. No wonder the goonies wanted to save it!

So amazing!

How beautiful is this building. Love the textures and colors.

We stopped by Cannon Beach, which was beautiful as always. I remember it kind of took my breath away when I saw this as a child fog rolled away and I thought it was a giant ship coming at us. I should have brought my camera, all I had was my iPhone. The pictures still turned out okay.

As we were walking back to the car, the sun came out. I'm going to look for real estate listings and move here. Immediately. Drew can come if he wants.....

My parents know how to make the most of a road trip, and know all the hot spots to see. A quick side trip to Multnomah Falls. Reminded me of Europe. All the green! It was really incredible, a must see.

Bark and moss.... The texture....

Wet and beautiful.

A road trip with these views? Yes please.

Just down the road was Horsetail Falls. Next time I want to take more time here and hike around. We,we're trying to make it home by 1 AM. So it was a quick stop.

Perfectly charming.

This poplar farm is so incredible. Pictures will never do it justice. Oh travel.... You complete me.

Wanderlust...

  1. “Without new experiences, something inside of us sleeps. The sleeper must awaken.”

    -Frank Herbert

You know you are headed for an adventure when there are signs like this.

I needed this trip. Like the quote above said, I needed something out of the ordinary. I get sick of seeing the same streets, sights etc. And this trip was just the thing I needed.

How cool is this? I was scared a sea lion was going to come up on the dock and knock me off. We were that close to them and the water. You should have heard my nephew honk (?) like a sea lion. Adorable.

I want to live here....

At one point in my life I want to live in a boat pulled up to this dock.

Portholes...

I was introduced to the wonder that is Sesame and Lilies. Within moments of walking into the store I had my arms full. And I loved the outside trim on this building.

Patina.... This place has charm and character oozing out of it....

Nutella, banana creeps on a blustery day. Yes please!

The beach was breathtaking.

Oh that quote is so true... The cure for anything is saltwater -sweat, tears or the sea. Isak Dinesen.

And then this beauty outside my sisters front door. She said this was a baby one. Oh boy.

A Road Trip Post...

And if you know that quote, we can for sure be friends. Sometimes you just have to say yes. My parents were road tripping to see my sister and family, and last minute I joined in on the fun.

This looked a little daunting.

We stopped in Pendelton, Oregon and strolled through one of the most beautiful tavern/bar/restaurants I have ever seem. This Tiffany chandelier was HUGE and beautiful.

Scenes from the road.....

The bridge to our final destination....

All those hours were worth it to see these faces....

Can you have too much pumpkin? I think not?

A visit to the beach to find sand dollars. You just drive up on the beach.... What? It was amazing. This little dude loves to splash.

It was amazing.

Johnny has an obsession with the moon. It's a tough obsession to have when you live in a place that is cloudy so much of the time.

This little man loves his Papa.

Puddles.

We spent our time snuggling babies and thrifting. It was a thrifters paradise. The glass balls above are actually Japanese fishing net floats that have washed up to shore. And the football looking thing is a cedar float.

The glass pieces above and below are old telephone wire insulators. They don't use these any more. I am just crazy about the look and color. These two are the smaller ones that I found at a random house/store that was filled to the brim with treasures! I loved it all.

A sea urchin, nature is pretty.

This little piece of art. Was on the wall of this crazy house. Scored it for $3, turns out its actually a pretty well known artist.

The bottles below are the prettiest shade of blue. I want to get a lone flower to put in each. $0.25..... Sure!

Babies and treasures from the sea? Yes please!
