Add Trim to a Solid Panel Door

Another quick update that looks great and low cost!

Our clients had solid panel doors throughout the house... They are fine but are boring and look cheap... Champagne problems.... Em I right? Jk...

Drew marked with his tape measure 6" in on all four sides of the door.

Then with a level drew a square to all the marks. This helps insure that your pencil mould stays straight. That little moulding can easily get off the line.

Cut your pencil mould according to your measurements. These will vary depending on style you choose and door size.

Drew measures to the inside of the 45 degree miter.

Then nail on the pencil mould...

Here is my vine of Drewpy finish nailing on the trim...

Before and During...

The 45 degree miter... Now we filled the nail holes with Crawford's Putty.

Then caulked the lines with DAP caulk...

We primed the wood with Rustoleum Spray Primer, then painted all the doors with our spray rig... Took Drew a couple hours to do 5 doors, both sides.

They add a great dimension to an otherwise plain door.

Lovely!

Happy Trimming...
