Condo Remodel...

I'm not really sure where January and February went... I can tell you where we spent January and February... It was in this condo! All that time... It was worth it... It's a tricky thing getting after pictures... Taking pictures before everyone moves in, and me having the patients to wait... So these pictures are a little more along the lines of "before final touch up pictures"...
It's hard to believe this beautiful kitchen started out like this tiny kitchen...
Itsy Bitsy builders grade beige....

To a beautiful white, open kitchen...

The kitchen was sectioned off into this corner with just a door wide opening...

(Before the hardware)

Then opened up and glorious... And check out that backsplash... Drew left me to fly solo on this one... I'm crazy about it!
Subway tile meets Carrera marble countertop... The clients had done some work with Elegant Universal Stone before so that's who did the countertops here... They did an incredible job. The stone is beautiful!

My he man really showed up to play on this remodel... He tore out all the studs that are exposed and threw up a huge support beam By. Himself... Blows my mind! The beam was enormous!

The extra cabinets they now have in the kitchen... The old kitchen started to the right of the fridge... How is that for space planning!

The picture above is looking at the cabinets and wainscot from the after picture above... Where the exposed beams are is not a peninsula that I didn't get a picture of. It houses the microwave and dishwasher.

On the other wall is Drew's built in masterpiece. A bookcase with storage in the bench... This was before he added four shelves on each side.

The wainscot... Drew used thinner material then we have seen or used in the past... And I am blown away by how much I love it!

The wainscot wall before, and the lonely window before the built in...

Thanks B family for letting us work on your home!

Do you need to open your kitchen up? Need trim or a built-in?

Wall color: Benjamin Moore Moonshine

Trim: Specialty White Matched at Kwal... I'll say it again, Kwal I phenomenal at matching paint colors. We took in a cabinet door that was sprayed in lacquer, and they matched it perfectly with a latex paint! We had a latex crown sit ontop of a lacquered subcrown and it was seamless!

Subway Tile: Home Depot

Grout: Lowe's, Mapei Warm Gray

Countertop: Carerra Marble, Elegant Universal Stone

  2. Hi Lindsay,

I came across your blog today and had a question about your wainscoating wall project. Did you use the thinner verticle boards for a reason. Did you buy them narrow? I wanted to ask my husband to do this for our house in a narrow hall way and like your idea.

    1. We did them thinner because we like the more intricate look... The dimensions are about the same as we were going to do on the shaker style doors. We think so,e times when people do too thick if material it starts to look cheap and cartoonish...they came on a sheet of MDF that we ripped down to the size we wanted. Good luck! It's such a fun feature.
